Using QuestionnaireResponse resource to store comm...

Hey Medplum team! We have a QA process that our QuestionnaireResponses have to go through before they are officially approved and submitted. I gather that the Communication resource is a good option to store comments on questionnaire items that need revision (with a reference to the QuestionnaireResponse and a reference to the linkId of the item). An alternative that I am considering is using another QuestionnaireResponse resource to store the comments related to a questionnaire. This will make it easy to map to the corresponding question that the comment belongs to and will maintain the orgiginal order/structure of the questionnaire. How do you feel about this approach? Are there any outstanding setbacks to this?

This potentially sounds like a good use of Tasks. https://www.medplum.com/docs/careplans/tasks
If you need a rich workflow tasks are designed for that
r
Yeah, i agree with @reshma that
Task
seems appropriate here. To expand:
QuestionnaireResponse.status
would be
in-progress
. -
Task.focus
would be the QuestionnaireResponse -
Task.input.valueId
would be the linkId of the item that needs to be corrected -
Task.note
could be used to keep running notes about the resolution
To get all outstanding issues related to a QR, you could search for all tasks by the
focus
property
The advantage of using
Tasks
is that this QA workflow can integrate well with your other clinical workflow processes, as outlined here: https://www.medplum.com/docs/careplans/tasks
