Hi KC! This kind of advanced search filtering is called reverse chaining in FHIR: http://hl7.org/fhir/R4/search.html#has Specifically, I think the underlying FHIR query you're looking for here would be something like

Patient?_has:EpisodeOfCare:patient:status=<status code>

Medplum doesn't yet support this functionality, but it's already on our radar and tracked via this GitHub issue: https://github.com/medplum/medplum/issues/1975
