Configuring parameters for self-hosted instance
# support

Hello again! I am trying to disable registration on our self-hosted instances. I created a new parameter by hand, but it does not seem to be picked up by the Medplum instance.
Maybe I am missing something - e.g. I noticed in the docs that it says "other settings must be created manually before the first deploy" - does that mean we cannot add configuration after the fact? The instance has been updated and restarted since adding the new parameter.
Here's the parameter that I added, in case there is something obviously wrong with it. I see other parameters like
/medplum/dev/port
etc already there

Hi @codingtom . You should be able to add this, and then restart both the app and server to pick up the change
did you use our
update-app
and
update-server
tooling to restart both?
To make sure the Medplum App picks this up, you might have to add this to your local config file as well

Yea, this is what I did, hmm. I did not add to my local config file tho as I thought that was semi-separate, will give that a try thanks!

Yes - this is admittedly confusing. Because the app is just a static JS file, i needs the config values hardcoded into the bundle. The way we do that currently is that the
update-app
command reads values from your local config, and and uses that to place the values in the app/index.js
