Migrating from non-AWS to AWS environment

Hello, We are trying to migrate our data from a self hosted system (Non-AWS) To a self hosted system (AWS). We already set up the AWS system, with the provided scripts from medplum. Now we want to migrate the data from the non-AWS system to AWS. I tried using the AWS database migration service, but unfortunately it fails with that. Now I would like to try to insert the dump file manually, but I am not able to connect to the database from the outside. I tried several configuration changes and IP Adresses to connect to the database, but I still can´t connect. Does someone have any idea, what I need to change to be able to connect to the database with my local client? Thanks so much.

Hi @denniscod! This is a pretty advanced use case that seems specific to your AWS account configuration. Best would be to reach out to the AWS support team to get in-depth guidance from them, as they will be the experts in setting up raw DB access for their managed services. As a general rule, the Medplum team avoids direct DB access as an interaction pattern, to avoid any system instability
One thing you could consider is setting up a Jump Box/Bastion Host an short-lived intermediate connection to your DB https://dev.to/aws-builders/aws-bastion-host-jump-box-5h87
