Getting a patients signature on consent forms
# support

In our use case, our patients need to fill out consent forms for gdpr and the relevant intervention. In these forms, they will also need to attach their signature. At the moment, the way we tackled this issue is by having the signature field as a QuestionnaireItemType.attachment, making the linkId end with a '-signature' suffix, and editing the
@medplum/react
QuestionnaireForm component to display a signature input based around this package - https://www.npmjs.com/package/react-signature-canvas. Has anyone faced a similar issue and can share their approach to getting a signature (for a specific form) from the patient? should we open a PR (which would also need to add QuestionnaireItemType.signature to that enum)? Thanks!

hi! Recommended to make a custom Questionnaire and then use a bot to create and manage the signature 🙂 https://www.medplum.com/docs/api/fhir/datatypes/signature
