"PostDeployMigrationQueue worker: error" during Me...

Hi everyone, how are you? I'd like to ask for help (more of a cry for help, really) with this error that's occurring during reindexing when we updated the Medplum server to v8. It's only emitting this log and not progressing with the reindexing. Is there anything I can do? It's a database with millions of records, and the reindexing process has already been running for over 800 hours. Below is the log that appears: {"level":"INFO","timestamp":"2026-06-10T11:04:29.100Z","msg":"PostDeployMigrationQueue worker: error","error":"could not renew lock for job 1","stack":"Error: could not renew lock for job 1\n at /usr/src/medplum/node_modules/bullmq/dist/cjs/classes/worker.js:792:40\n at process.processTicksAndRejections (node:internal/process/task_queues:95:5)\n at async Worker.extendLocks (/usr/src/medplum/node_modules/bullmq/dist/cjs/classes/worker.js:782:9)\n at async Timeout._onTimeout (/usr/src/medplum/node_modules/bullmq/dist/cjs/classes/worker.js:732:29)"} I would appreciate any help you can provide. Sincerely, Adriano Freitas

Hi @Adriano Freitas ! Is there a chance you meant v5? If so, do you know exact which version you are upgrading from, and which version you are upgrading to?

Hello @Maddy ! The version that is reindexing the tables is v8 (Server). I was on version 4.1.5 and migrated to version 4.1.18. Below is the AsyncJob image to confirm the v8 update on the Server. The application is already on 4.1.18. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1514227443123359906/1514592735548670105/Captura_de_tela_2026-06-11_082648.png?ex=6a2bede7&is=6a2a9c67&hm=41f0bdc1fbbd32b0066101b6930ff32304b5805252553fa34faac9b20b618a1a&
Good afternoon everyone! To resolve the problem, I had to delete the POD in Kubernetes that was generating the error logs, and then I used the "Run Pending Data Migration" option to manually restart the "v8" migration process. During the initial processing, we had this LOG which seems to be related to the AsyncJob feature: {"level":"INFO","timestamp":"2026-06-18T14:27:58.488Z","msg":"PostDeployMigrationQueue worker: failed","jobId":"1","jobTimestamp":1781785626195,"processedOn":1781791687249,"finishedOn":1781792878478,"queuedDurationMs":6061054,"executionDurationMs":1191229,"totalDurationMs":7252283,"attemptsMade":1,"attemptsStarted":2,"asyncJob":"AsyncJob/019e03fc-40f3-7491-97fd-85dcd6316914","jobType":"reindex","prev":"active","error":"Constraint inv-1 not met: A parameter must have one and only one of (value, resource, part) ({\"fhirpath\":\"(part.exists() and value.empty() and resource.empty()) or (part.empty() and (value.exists() xor resource.exists()))\"}) (AsyncJob.output.parameter[4].part[2]); Invalid additional property \"valueString\" (AsyncJob.output.parameter[4].part[2].valueString)","stack":"Error: Constraint inv-1 not met: A parameter must have one and only one of (value, resource, part) ({\"fhirpath\":\"(part.exists() and value.empty() and resource.empty()) or (part.empty() and (value.exists() xor resource.exists()))\"}) (AsyncJob.output.parameter[4].part[2]); Invalid additional property \"valueString\" (AsyncJob.output.parameter[4].part[2].valueString)\n at er.validate (/usr/src/medplum/packages/core/dist/cjs/index.cjs:1:56030)\n at Xs (/usr/src/medplum/packages/core/dist/cjs/index.cjs:1:55505)\n at Repository.validateResourceStrictly (/usr/src/medplum/packages/server/dist/fhir/repo.js:559:52)\n at Repository.validateResource (/usr/src/medplum/packages/server/dist/fhir/repo.js:539:24)\n at Repository.updateResourceImpl (/usr/src/medplum/packages/server/dist/fhir/repo.js:443:20)\n at process.processTicksAndRejections
@Maddy , I’d like to know if it’s possible to install a new Medplum environment—already updated to the latest version—and migrate the data from the old database to the new one. I’m unable to proceed with reindexing the tables; they are simply too large. Do you think this approach is feasible?
i
@Adriano Freitas, you should be able to export the data via the bulk data export method on the medplum client - https://www.medplum.com/docs/sdk/core.medplumclient.bulkexport#medplumclientbulkexport-method If you want to preserve the IDs for each of your resources, you can import using a super admin client application. I'd take a look at our migration documentation as well. This should help you think about approaching migrating your data - https://www.medplum.com/docs/migration.
