Having some trouble running bots locally I have Medplum set up - to read from ENV vars so I have MEDPLUM_VM_CONTEXT_BOTS_ENBALED=true - navigated to projects and added feature "Bots" - I've created a Bot and set the runtime to "vmcontext" and am still unfortunately seeing "Bots not enabled" error messages. Have I missed something here?

@kev062169 - happy to help! In the future, you can ask these questions on our #1094022380659155005 forum
k
Ah ok excellent - thanks
r
I would guess what's going on is that you might have enabled Bots on one project, but have created the Bot in the "Super Admin" project
k
I would bet that you are right 🤦‍♂️ , let me try that
r
Typically, all Bot creation should be in your "non-super admin" project
k
Got it - so I added the bot on the Admin > Project section , which I'm realizing now is wrong - when I navigate to the Project resource, I'm finding that I don't know how to create an associated bot there - do I need to re log in and select the other project or similar to create a bot in it?
r
Admin > Project is fine. But you would want to be logged into your non-super-admin project when creating. One thing you can do to troubleshoot is got to the
Bot
resource, and look at the JSON tab. there will be a
project
key, that will let you know which project that Bot is a part of
k
Yep - that actually looks correct, I'm finding that "Features" option "Bots" is not actually persisting, but that could be due to a storage configuration error that I have from docker composing the project Will look into further before bugging ya, this gives me enough context to dive in a bit further
Thank you!
r
Oh! The "features" will need to be set when logged into the Super admin project
k
Sorry - this feels like a noob question - I'm aware that I'm not in the SuperAdmin Project by using the profile selector, I don't see a SuperAdmin project / know how to switch to one The project instantiated at account creation won't allow me to check it as a SuperAdmin project Any quick advice here?
r
@kev062169 - are you running on localhost? Typically, the SuperAdmi project is created by default
You shouldl be able to log in as the Medplum Admin https://www.medplum.com/docs/contributing/run-the-stack
k
Yeah sorry I figured this out looking at the seed file that I needed to use a specific user - thank you!
r
Glad you got it squared away
k
Thank you!
