Authoritative source for billing codes?

Hi there, my team is playing around with generating billing codes for various activities. Is there an authoritative database that we can import into SQLite or Postgres? Ideally we'd have some data dump that includes all CPT codes and all ICD-10 codes. This site seems to have the type of information we're looking for: https://icd.who.int/browse10/2019/en. But we would prefer not to have to resort to scraping something like this.

Hi @paulmest , in FHIR what you're referring is called a "Terminology Service". This would be an supplement to our current APIs that support searching and validating Code Systems (e.g. CPT, ICD-10, etc.) and ValueSets (subsets of codes) We have a write up on this topic here https://github.com/medplum/medplum/discussions/1411
Soon, medplum will have an option for you to enable a terminology service out of the box. This will include all code systems included in the UMLS (https://www.nlm.nih.gov/research/umls/index.html)

Very cool! I’ll share this with my team.
