Does Medplum support importing FHIR resources in J...

This would be as an alternative to FHIR Bundle importing
r
Not for import, but supported for Export https://www.medplum.com/docs/api/fhir/operations/bulk-fhir

thanks for responding @reshma ! Would that be a feature you'd consider adding?

potentially? Rarely see it in practice personally, but may be a blind spot. Tell me more?

So Fasten acts as a Plaid for medical records, effectively we allow patients to share their medical records with trusted third party organization that don;t have a Treatment purpose of use. As part of this process, we generate NDJSON/JSONL exports of their medical records -- similar to an EHI-Export endpoint. This is important because the records can be incredibly large (I've seen 700mb+ records), so a streaming JSON parser is the only sane way to process this data. I've recommended that my customers use a CDR like Medplum to handle the storage & querying of medical records within their systems, and they've mentioned that they would prefer not to have to do the additional work necessary to process and parse the JSONL file into a FHIR Bundle
Also, given that you already support generating NDJSON export files, intuitively it seems like it would make sense to be able to import NDJSON files as well 🙂

Any chance you would consider writing a bot along these lines? 🙂
a
hm, a
bot
? Is that a plugin mechasim or something for Medplum? If you can point me to area of your codebase that's relevant to
Batch Upload
, I'd be happy to contribute support for JSONL/NDJSON files!

I think writing this as a Medplum Bot https://www.medplum.com/docs/bots/bot-basics to start might be the most elegant IMO
