Integrating Azure Blob Storage with Medplum
# support
s
Current Setup: - Successfully deployed Medplum app and server - Database: PostgreSQL - Cache: Redis - Authentication: AWS Cognito (integrated with Medplum) - Cloud Provider: Azure Issue: Everything is working well with the current deployment. However, I need guidance on how to link Azure Blob Storage to my Medplum application for file storage. Additional Context: I'm specifically using Azure as my cloud provider and need to use their Blob Storage service rather than AWS S3 or other storage options. Thank you for your assistance!

@sandydasari this is a work in progress - but does this help? https://github.com/medplum/medplum/pull/6065 Recommend starring the repo for updates as this is under active development.

It seems to be merged. Is this avaialble to use now? If not, any documentation regarding AWS S3 storage would suffice as well.
@reshma @rahul1 @medplummatt Hi, any docs on how we can integrate this?
I understand i have to write in this format "binaryStorage": "azure:storage_account_name:container_name", where do I give credentials?

HI @sandydasari thanks for the question. Right now our Azure support is still a work in progress, and we are working on docs for this

@rahul1 @reshma @medplummatt Hi, Is there any update on this? If this is stilll WIP, where can I find docs for S3?
r
Do you mean running the full application on AWS? If so, these are the instructions https://www.medplum.com/docs/self-hosting/install-on-aws
s
No, I've manually deployed everything and not using any cdk or terraform. I want to understand how I can use S3 bucket for blob storage.

Hi @sandydasari - to use S3, you first create the S3 bucket, and then set the
binaryStorage
server config setting. See docs here: https://www.medplum.com/docs/self-hosting/config-settings#binarystorage-required
