Cloud-hosted Medplum <> Customer.io integration

Hi team! We're evaluating Medplum as a potential replacement for our current EHR and have a question about Customer.io integration. Currently, we use Customer.io's [reverse ETL](https://docs.customer.io/integrations/data-in/connections/reverse-etl/postgresql/) to sync user data directly from our database. However, we understand that with cloud-hosted Medplum, we won't have direct database access. We need to: 1. Sync patient/user profiles to Customer.io 2. Track patient journey milestones as events in Customer.io to trigger communications What's the recommended integration approach? We're considering: - Using Medplum Bots to periodically sync data (we're still learning about how Medplum Bots work, but seem promising) - Setting up webhooks with Medplum Subscriptions to push events from our backend via Customer.io's API/SDK - (Not sure if feasible but) not using Customer.io and taking care of patient communications entirely on Medplum (but can Medplum handle not only emails and SMS but also in-app messaging and push notifications?) Has anyone built something similar? Any examples or best practices would be greatly appreciated!

Good question set and some thought here: 1. Bots are indeed the right mechanism to get the dataflow that you want. Ideally you'd do it on an event driven basis, but possible to execute on CRON as well. Basically, whenever a new Patient resource is made, synchronize it to Custoemr.io via API and save the identifier in Medplum as well. 2. Tracking milestones can be done via Tasks https://www.medplum.com/docs/careplans/tasks and hooked up to subscriptions and bots to customer.io 3. Relying on Medplum is possible, but you'd still need byo email, SMS providers. Medplum does support websockets, so in app messaging and push notifications are supported.
